BRACE YOURSELVES!!!

... for the "Team Alinghi" Offshore is coming! I have had a peak at the new Offshore to be presented in little over a month from now. All I can guarantee you is that it will NOT leave anybody indifferent. While more extravagant watch lovers will find it breathtaking I am certain that the classical watch crowd will find it absolutely horrifying.

Unfortunately this time I have have been sworn to absolute secrecy and can't divulge or even describe the piece. Darn... What I can tell you is that if you liked the "Montoya" or the "EOD" this is definitely your piece. The Alinghi Team is the most aggressive Oak to date, so aggressive in fact that it makes the Montoya look as classical as a Jumbo. If you want me to be even blunter... then I would say that the Team Alinghi is to the Montoya what Attilah the Hun is to Marie Antoinette. Definitely not a ladies watch.

I suggest you RUN to the nearest Official Dealer and put a down payment on it. Trust me, you want to do this today!

Wow you must have connections up the yin yang to have a peek at it before release. Making all of us normal folk envious :) As you have been sworn to absolute secrecy, what would you recommend someone whose grail watch is the "EOD" but who isn't too partial to the "Montoya"? Sounds like a very aggressively styled watch, look forward to its launch.

Hi Raphael,

Well in this case it is difficult. What I can be certain off is that it will go absolutely nuts in the second hand market. It is very different from all the stuff you have seen so far. What I can tell you is that it is a dark, very dark watch. If you love the EOD than this could be right up your alley.

Cheers,
D.

Hi Dario

Thanks for your quick reply.

I think without a doubt it will be super hot in the secondary market once its all snapped up in a flash. Now how do I convince my wife we don't need the new car right now and that all my first baby expenses have been saved up for till college and that the Team Alinghi is a necessity.. tricky

More guesses from me as to what it might look like, which you don't have to validate of course :) hmm, you mention dark... its either pvd'ed or black/dark colored ceramic or a mix of these and some other new dark material perhaps? it has hands with unique stylings and red will feature a fair bit. its pushers are reminscent of the montoya perhaps. it will feature a brand new AP in house integrated flyback column wheel chronograph, automatic movement, vertical clutch coupling, zero reset small seconds and the 10 minutes countdown and the other standard stuff,ie water resistance, anti-shock, anti-magnetic etc.ran out of breath on that one. I guess i have to wait and see :) Thanks.

Cheers
Raphael

Hahaha... close, but one thing I can tell you is that it's not PVD'ed or black ceramic. It's dark, very dark...

The material is called CAVORITE....

I was lucky enough to try on the form prototype end of last year.

Not my cup of tea I'm afraid. Bold is not the word.

Sounds great! I have my name on a list at my AD we'll see if I actually get one. Is this a different case size than the normal 42mm for the offshores?

Hi Bill,

It is slightly larger but the black look makes it optically smaller. The crown is much larger though...

Good Luck,
D.

Any idea on numbers produced world wide?
